I'm much more satified with how this revision turned out. The picture is broken up horizontally with the horizon line going across the image cutting it almost perfectly in half. I left the "Gear Up" purposefully under the horizon line. I contrasted the font colors and types matching earthy and airy tones. I kept the font left aligned and I think it fits nicely with the hiker in the right space. With proximity I matched the text more closely to the image than to each other. Bringing the journey text down to closer proximity to the gear up would've obstructued the brilliant sun and I didn't want that.
First, I love landscape pictures and used one to fill the entire background layer. I made a few adjustments to it in Camera Raw to make it lighter and have the sun rays pop. I wanted the motivational message to come from the picture and the minimal message. I struggled picking contrasting fonts that complemented, but they're opposite in color and I chose a sans serif and a modern font to clash. I decided to leave the different texts in close proximity to each other to blend the message.
